Support our mission

      As a private educational association, Pono Outdoor Program is currently self-sponsored and community-supported, and while we remain deeply committed to keeping our program accessible, we do need collective support to continue growing. In order to provide a high-quality, safe, and consistent outdoor education experience for our keiki, we aim to raise approximately $250,000 per year to fund four dedicated teachers who guide students through their journey in nature. These funds go directly toward staffing, training, program supplies, and essential safety resources—ensuring every child is supported by experienced educators in the field. In addition, we require approximately $3,000 annually for secure storage to protect our supplies, art materials, and educational resources from weather damage, pests, and natural wear. We also allocate around $300 per year for essential digital tools such as Zoom and website maintenance to keep our program organized, connected, and accessible to families.

     Beyond daily operations, we also rely on community support to sustain meaningful field experiences, including contributions to local farms and visits to organizations that welcome and enrich our keiki through real-world learning. If you feel called to support our mission, we welcome sponsorships and angel investors who wish to make a contribution toward our program, which may be tax-deductible depending on applicable guidelines. Our long-term vision is to raise approximately $450,000 annually to fully support a thriving educational program serving up to 200 keiki each year. With this support, we can continue building a living classroom where children develop confidence, resilience, and a deep connection to ʻāina, community, and themselves.
